FAQ
Questions, answered.
Straight answers to the questions people ask before paying for a scanner. Anything not covered here: support@whet.gg.
What's a Whet Score and how is it calculated?
A Whet Score is the 0–100 number on every prop card that tells you, in one glance, whether the edge is real and meaningful. It is a weighted blend of six inputs plus a conviction step. The heaviest input is the de-vigged fair probability that the bet lands. Then the EV after de-vigging across the books that price the market, and the gap between that fair probability and what your book's price implies. Three smaller penalties pull the score down for a wide market, a sharp book, and a book that limits fast. The conviction step then lifts picks in the calibrated favorite band and demotes the long-shot tail, which is why the score does not simply rank by raw EV. Scores ≥ 87 are "fire tier" and the ring glows lime. Full methodology is at /methodology.
Which sportsbooks do you support?
DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, theScore Bet, Fanatics, Hard Rock, BetRivers, plus 30 more regional and offshore books, 25+ in total. We pull odds every 30 seconds while a game is on and about every 3 minutes before it, and de-vig the books pricing each market to find the fair line. You don't need accounts at every book. Each pick names the book offering that price.
Is this legal in my state?
Whet is an analytics tool. We don't take bets ourselves. The legality question is whether online sports betting is legal where you live. Whet is most useful in the 32 jurisdictions where online sports betting is operational (AR, AZ, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, RI, TN, VA, VT, WV, WY). If your state isn't live yet, you can still get the daily free-pick email and we'll let you know when it launches.
Do I need accounts at all 25 books? How many is enough?
No. Each pick names the one book offering the price we scored, so the books you hold are what decide how much of the board you can actually take. Sharps run 8–12 for deeper coverage and limit-management; recreational bettors do fine with 3–4.
How much time per day does this take?
15–30 minutes a day is the sweet spot. Open the scanner, check the top 5–10 highest-scored bets, place the ones that pass your own sniff test, log them.
Will I win every day?
No. Anyone who promises that is selling fantasy. Sports betting is variance-driven; +EV strategies pay out over hundreds of bets, not five. What Whet does is tilt the math in your favor on every individual bet. Over a few hundred bets, that compounds into a meaningful edge. The standard we hold it to is the public graded record: every pick posted with its result, wins and losses, and the real win rate and ROI over the whole sample. That's the number that can't be spun. It's live at /proof.
Should I bet more when Whet is hot?
No. A hot streak is variance, not a signal, the same way a cold streak doesn't mean the edge is gone. The edge lives in the price and pays out over hundreds of flat bets, not five big ones. Upping your stake because the last few hit is the fastest way to give it all back. Pick a bet size you're comfortable with and keep it steady, win or lose. The entire record you see is measured at one flat bet per pick, published in dollars at $10 flat bets, for exactly this reason. 21+. Only bet what you can afford to lose.
How do you know the edge is actually real?
The public graded record. On July 14, 2026 we froze the scoring, locking the code so it can't be tuned to look good. Since then every issued pick is posted with its outcome, flat-stake win rate and ROI, wins and losses. We also tested closing-line value, but found our consensus-based CLV mostly measured which books we happened to scan, not a real edge, so we retired that stat rather than publish a flattering but hollow number. The honest metric is the outcome record itself, and you can watch it build live at /forward-test.
How is this different from OddsJam, Unabated, or Outlier?
Other scanners find the bets. Whet tells you which ones to take. We size (fractional Kelly on the de-vigged fair probability and the price on offer, sized as a percentage of your bankroll) and score (the 0–100 number that says "take this" vs "skip this"). Most scanners stop at "+EV exists." Whet starts there.
What happens if I want to cancel?
Cancel any time, no questions. If you cancel inside your plan's trial window, you're not charged. If you cancel after, your access stays active through the end of your current billing period and then ends. No auto-renew traps. Billed by mistake? Email support within 24 hours of the charge and we'll make it right.
Do you sell my data?
No. We don't sell, rent, or share your email, bet logs, or usage data with anyone. Full breakdown of what we collect and why is at /privacy. Short version: we use minimal analytics to fix bugs and improve the product. We don't target advertising against your data, and we don't share with third parties beyond what's needed to run the service (Stripe for payment, Supabase for auth, Resend for email, plus hosting and analytics, all under DPAs). The full list is on /privacy.
Bought Whet in the app? How do I cancel?
A membership bought in the Whet app is billed by Apple on an iPhone, or by Google Play on an Android phone, so you cancel it with them. On an iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. On Android, open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. In the app, the Manage subscription button on the Membership screen opens Apple's or Google Play's own page. Cancel at least 24 hours before the free trial or the current period ends to stop the next charge. You keep the full board until the end of the period you paid for, or of your free trial.
How do refunds work for a purchase in the app?
Apple decides every refund for a purchase made on an iPhone, and Whet can't refund it: tap Request a refund on the app's Membership screen, or go to reportaproblem.apple.com. For a purchase made on Android, you can ask Google Play for a refund within 48 hours of the charge, or email support@whet.gg within 24 hours of it and we may refund it in full. If Apple or Google Play refunds a purchase, the membership it paid for ends. The full rules are in section 5 of our Terms.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, or on whet.gg once you sign in: open Settings, choose Delete account under Account, type DELETE and confirm. No app, or can't sign in? Email support@whet.gg from the address on your account. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a membership billed by Apple or Google Play: cancel it with them first, or it keeps renewing. What is deleted, and the few records we keep, are listed on the Delete Account page.
How do I reach support?
Email support@whet.gg. If it's about a membership, write from the address on your account, so we can find it.
Check the record.
Every pick the board has shown, graded against the real result, wins and losses both. Read it before you decide.
