Delete Account

How to delete your Whet account and its data, what is kept, and when it becomes permanent. You can do it in the app, on whet.gg, or by email.

Bought Whet in the app? Cancel that first

A membership bought in the Whet app on an iPhone is billed by Apple, and one bought on an Android phone is billed by Google Play. Deleting your Whet account does not cancel it: cancel it with Apple or Google Play first, or it keeps renewing.

Delete it yourself

In the Whet app, or on whet.gg once you sign in:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Under Account, choose Delete account.
  3. Type DELETE and confirm.

You are signed out straight away, and we email you to confirm the request. Want a copy of your data first? In the same Account group, choose Export my data before you delete.

No app, or can't sign in?

Email support@whet.gg from the address on your account and ask us to delete it.

What happens, and when

Right away. The account is closed: signing in shows a deletion notice instead of Whet. A paid subscription billed at whet.gg is canceled so it does not renew or charge you again (one billed by Apple or Google Play is canceled only with them, above), and your address comes off the daily free pick email.

After 7 days. A daily cleanup removes the account and its data for good. Signing in during those 7 days does not stop it. If a subscription is still active at our payment processor by then, we hold the account until the cancel goes through, so no charge is ever left without a record of it.

Changed your mind? Email support@whet.gg within the 7 days and we put it back. After that it cannot be recovered.

What is deleted

  • Your sign-in: your email address, password and sessions.
  • Your profile: display name, username and plan.
  • Your settings, bankroll and alert choices, and your phone and browser alert sign-ups.
  • Every bet and parlay you logged, with its history.
  • Your support tickets and your subscription history in Whet.
  • Your referrals, leaderboard entries, betting limits and self-exclusions.

What is kept

  • Usage events (which pages and features were used) stay, with the link to your account removed.
  • Payment records at Stripe, our payment processor, stay with Stripe under its own rules. Deleting your Whet account does not delete them.
  • Purchase records for a membership bought in the app stay with Apple or Google Play under their own rules. Whet also keeps its own record of that purchase (the plan, its dates and the store's IDs). It no longer points to any Whet account, and it's kept so one purchase can never pay for two accounts.
  • Your address on the daily free pick list stays, marked unsubscribed, so it's never emailed again.
  • Whet's own picks, prices and public record. They hold no personal data.
